Camden Property Trust (NYSE: CPT) announced the promotion of Allison Dunavant to senior vice president – human resources, following the retirement of her predecessor Cindy Scharringhausen. Dunavant previously served as Camden’s vice president – organizational development.

DiamondRock Hospitality Company (NYSE: DRH) said Bill Tennis, its long-time executive vice president and general counsel, will retire effective June 30. Tennis, who joined the company in 2010, “has played a leading role in representing the company in many of its strategic decisions and has been a trusted advisor to the CEO and other company executives,” DiamondRock said.

Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX) announced a planned leadership transition that will be effective late in the second quarter. Current President and CEO Charles Meyers will transition to the role of executive chairman, and Google Cloud Go-to-Market President Adaire Fox-Martin will begin serving as Equinix president and CEO. Peter Van Camp, currently executive chairman, will step away from his formal responsibilities as a board member to take the role of special advisor to the board.

Equity Residential (NYSE: EQR) named Kyle Hendricks as its new vice president, head of sustainability at Equity. The REIT pointed to his extensive experience in energy, sustainability, and smart buildings strategy.

Equity Residential also announced the appointment of Ann Hoff and Nina Jones to the board of trustees to serve until the next annual meeting of shareholders. Both Hoff and Jones qualify as independent trustees under the New York Stock Exchange’s listing standards. Hoff will serve on the audit committee and Jones will serve on both the audit and corporate governance committees. With these appointments, the board will increase to 11 members.

Four Corners Property Trust (NYSE: FCPT) said it plans to promote Patrick Wernig, managing director of acquisitions, to CFO. Wernig, following a transitional period and subject to his appointment by the board, will succeed Gerry Morgan. Morgan will retire effective May 3 and assume an interim advisory role to facilitate the transition.

Healthpeak Properties, Inc. (NYSE: PEAK) said that in connection with the completion of the merger with Physicians Realty Trust, the Healthpeak board of directors expanded from eight to 13 directors with the addition of five new directors that previously served on the board of trustees of Physicians Realty Trust: John Thomas, who will serve as vice chair of the Healthpeak board, as well as Ava Lias-Booker, Pamela Kessler, Gov. Tommy Thompson, and Richard Weiss.

Independence Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE: IRT) announced the appointment of Craig Macnab to its board of directors. Macnab brings over 20 years of experience to IRT’s board after serving in various executive and board roles in the REIT industry, including most recently as CEO of National Retail Properties, Inc. (NYSE: NNN) for 13 years. His appointment increases the size of IRT’s board to 10 members, including eight independent directors.

MAA (NYSE: MAA) announced the retirement of Toni Jennings from the board of directors. This planned transition aligns with the board's retirement policy and refreshment strategy and in conjunction with her departure, the board has approved a reduction in the number of authorized directors to 12.

Nareit’s Senior Executive Vice President Tony Edwards retired at the end of March, after more than 30 years at Nareit. Over the course of his tenure at Nareit, Edwards played a significant role in shaping the REIT landscape as it is known and understood today. Through his various roles, which included general counsel, executive vice president, and senior executive vice president, he helped shape every piece of REIT legislation and regulation from the beginnings of the modern REIT era to now, including the REIT Modernization Act of 1999, the Real Estate Investment Diversification and Empowerment Act of 2007, and the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, to name a few. Last November at REITworld 2023 in Los Angeles, Nareit awarded Edwards its Industry Achievement Award.

Prologis, Inc. (NYSE: PLD) hired Chris Curtis in a newly created role as global head of data centers. Curtis has more than 20 years of experience in commercial real estate and most recently served as co-founder, principal, and senior vice president of development and acquisitions at Compass Datacenters.

UDR, Inc. (NYSE: UDR) said Harry Alcock, senior vice president and chief investment officer, will retire from the role of CIO effective July 31, at which time he will transition to a consulting role with a focus on transactions.

Ventas, Inc. (NYSE: VTR) announced that its board of directors has appointed Theodore Bigman and Joe Rodriguez, Jr. Bigman has served as a private investor and as founder and chief investment officer of Bigman Holdings, his family office, since March 2021. Rodriguez was a founding partner and chief investment officer at Invesco Real Estate.

Ventas also said that James (“Denny”) Shelton, lead independent director, has decided to retire from the board.

W. P. Carey Inc. (NYSE: WPC) announced the appointment of Rhonda Gass to its board of directors. Gass will serve as a member of the audit committee and brings more than 30 years of experience in technological transformation, cybersecurity, and digital risk management.
