Real estate was among 15 industries included on the Great American Economic Revival list, a new White House initiative focused on reopening the economy after the coronavirus shutdown. Simon Property Group (NYSE: SPG) and CEO David Simon and Vornado Realty Trust (NYSE: VNO) and CEO Steven Roth were included in the real estate section.

Among the other real estate companies named to the list were: private alternative investment firm Starwood Capital Group and its Chairman and CEO Barry Sternlicht; and private equity, alternative asset management, and financial services firm Blackstone and its President and COO Jon Gray. Sternlicht also serves as CEO and chair of mREIT Starwood Property Trust, Inc. (NYSE: STWD); and Gray also serves as CEO of diversified REIT Blackstone Real Estate Advisors.

President Trump made the announcement at a news briefing this week and said that the individuals named to the list would be meeting by telephone.

The other real estate companies named to the list were: Caruso (Rick Caruso); Greystar (Robert Faith); Irvine Company (Don Bren); Related Companies (Stephen Ross); and Witkoff Group (Steve Witkoff).

The other industries included on the list are: agriculture; banking; construction, labor, and workforce; defense; energy; financial services; food and beverage; transportation; health care; hospitality; manufacturing; real estate; retail; technology; and sports. The complete list includes almost 200 companies, each with a corresponding executive.
