On July 9, 2019, Hawaii Governor David Ige vetoed SB 301, which would have eliminated the REIT dividends paid deduction for four years. House and Senate leadership declined to convene a special legislative session to override this veto. Accordingly, the governor’s veto will stand.
Nareit will continue to oppose any anti-REIT legislation at the state level.
