Hudson Pacific Properties, Inc. (NYSE: HPP) is helping to combat homelessness across its core West Coast markets, including Los Angeles, where it has pledged $500,000 to support Union Rescue Mission.

According to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, more than 58,000 people are homeless in Los Angeles County on any given night. Union Rescue Mission provides vital emergency and long-term services, and Hudson Pacific’s $500,000 donation will directly support these efforts over the course of three years.

Natalie Teear, vice president of sustainability and social impact at Hudson Pacific, said the REIT is committed to being a part of the solution to the homelessness epidemic facing major cities. “Being a responsible corporate citizen is part of who we are, and it is important to our employees, tenants, city partners, and shareholders,” she said.

Teear said Hudson Pacific will continue to pursue creative ways to work with local partners striving to prevent homelessness and overcome housing affordability challenges in its core markets of Los Angeles, Silicon Valley, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver, and beyond.

The company also encourages employee giving by providing every employee with 32 hours of paid volunteer time-off annually and matching charitable contributions.
