Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer PrideMonth is a moment to reflect on the LGBTQ experience in our nation and celebrate the many accomplishments of LGBTQ Americans. This year, Nareit will be sharing the strides that our member REITs are taking to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion and how they are recognizing LGBTQ PrideMonth this year.

Extra Space Storage Inc. (NYSE: EXR) said the Extra Space LGBTQIA+ Employee Resource Group kicked off Pride Month by sending out Pride-inspired lanyards to all its members. James Hafen, senior vice president sponsor of the LGBTQIA+ ERG, said, “For me, the Extra Space Storage Pride Swag is a way of quietly but proudly affirming that there is support, safety, and respect for everyone in this organization. When I wear a lanyard or a bracelet I hope it signals that as an individual I am an advocate and that as a company we embrace everyone.”

The REIT noted that following the success of last year's "15 Seconds of Fabulous" campaign, this year's initiative, designed by GLAAD and evolving from an earlier campaign this year, continues to spotlight the LGBTQ community with a broader reach and enhanced features.
