Craig Stern, managing director-real estate, at Mazars USA LLP, participated in a video interview during REITwise 2022: Nareit's Law, Accounting & Finance Conference held in Orlando, Florida on March 23-25.
Stern discussed REIT-related issues in connection with the rental of co-working spaces, which he described as a new venture for many REITs. He noted that rent is a fundamental question for REITs, covering time, space, and services. “Co-working raises interesting questions and challenges with regards to all three.”
Other topics covered in the interview included issues that need to be considered by a REIT that has a parking space next to its office or retail space.
