Kelly Shaw, regional vice president at LoopNet, sat down for a video interview during Nareit’s REITworld: 2024 Annual Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada on Nov. 18-21.
Shaw described LoopNet as the global leader in commercial real estate marketing, attracting over 13 million unique visitors every month. The platform offers a full suite of marketing services, reaching not only end users but also brokers via Costar. LoopNet’s enhanced advertising packages, like signature advertising, provide premium services such as content curation, architectural photography, and drone footage to showcase properties in the best light.
Shaw said properties listed on LoopNet leased 19% faster and sold 9% faster in 2023. LoopNet’s platform was involved in 51% of commercial real estate transactions in 2023, totaling $109 billion. Post-COVID, there’s been a noticeable flight to quality, with class A properties and prime markets receiving significant search interest, she noted. The most searched property types are office, retail, and industrial, with retail leading for sale properties.
For properties to stand out, Shaw emphasized the importance of capturing the online audience.
