Sherry Rexroad, CFO at STORE Capital Corp. (NYSE: STOR), participated in a video interview during REITwise 2022: Nareit's Law, Accounting & Finance Conference held in Orlando, Florida on March 23-25.
Rexroad discussed some of the benefits she brings to her role at STORE after previously serving at BlackRock Global Real Asset Securities. She also discussed some of the looming issues facing REIT CFOs. One such issue is attracting and retaining diverse talent. “In today’s current job market environment that’s become increasingly difficult,” she said.
Rexroad also said CFOs should focus on the development of business intelligence and how it impacts strategic planning. “The CFO should really be in the middle of the collision of strategic planning, capital markets, and business intelligence.”
Meanwhile, Rexroad stressed the need for diversity of experience and perspective on REIT boards, not just diversity of ethnicity and gender.
